Caboolture has developed into an important commuter township being only 45 km north of Brisbane. It was first settled in 1840s and the name is said to be an Aboriginal word for ‘carpet snake’. The local economy is based on dairying, timber, tropical fruit, cattle & service industries. Bribie Island (21 km east). Caboolture markets each Sun am.
